We’re having a mega heatwave here in the UK. It’s already been a very hot couple of weeks. I’ve been dipping in and out of the sunshine, enjoying it in short bursts and making sure to keep cool and chilled otherwise. The extreme weather brings it’s own problems – dry gardens, low watering holes, etc but it causes many others – heatstroke, sleepless nights and so on. There has also been a really high pollen count playing havoc for hayfever sufferers, me included.
A friend recommended Golden Milk or Turmeric Tea as a natural hayfever remedy. I can’t believe it’s never been suggested before. as it seems to help my hayfever troubles immensely! I wanted to share the idea with others as I have by far scaled down the alternative remedies I was using resorting to just the odd eyedrop application. A little more about Turmeric tea can be read here,
My own version is milk, fresh ginger, turmeric, ground cinnamon, warmed, strained, sweetened with agave syrup.
On a little visit to a nearby town, Westerham, someone else has another summer ‘remedy’ to another ‘problem’ – this made me laugh out loud! Im not a gin fan but I love a sense of humour!
