A small knit a la plage

Posted on

A little break in Normandy, France.  One afternoon, Cabourg on the coast.  A gentle breeze blew the winter blues away.  Briefly the beach was empty and perfect.

Later, pins and wool in hand, half a baby dress. This is an ongoing project but there is a time limit.

Unfortunately due to hand trouble it is a little slower growing than I would like.

More another day …

Thank you. There were other people along the beach. We were just lucky to wander a little away from everyone and get a few snaps of an empty stretch. I love, love, love being at the beach, whatever the weather, whatever the season! Thank you for the comment about my hand too – currently taking it easy, trying not to get frustrated.

Beautiful, beautiful…it’s all so beautiful!! Don’t worry about your hand trouble. Do what you can, when you can and enjoy the journey. It is easier said than done. We seem to be experts at putting high expectations on ourselves. Your work is beautiful.

That is going to be a wonderful dress – I love the yarn colors. Hope your hand trouble heals.
You know how to take a break – Normandy – how wonderful!

Thank you. I can’t decide if I shall finish the dress – having a bit of a wobble about it as the recepient’s birthday approaches. Despite the initial measurements and the toddler’s measurements, and a swatch test, it looks narrow! When I can knit properly again I shall endeavour to knit fast and check it all again – or end up gifting it to someone else. I have also a toddler cardigan to sew up – for the same birthday – and that is a lot bigger – maybe even won’t fit for a few months. I have to say I began the cardigan before measuring. I am such a serial new project starter ……
